Class Descriptions:
Classes are focused on awakening the very essence of who we are. I am devoted to creating an environment where each student can explore their own practice safely and mindfully.
Vinyasa Yoga:
Follows the flow of the breath through interweaving asanas (postures) which focus on integrating intention, breath and movement, awareness and alignment, and strength and flexibility. Asanas are connected through the breath for a balancing effect on the mind and body that inspires pure bliss.
Beginning Yoga:
This class is for people who have never done yoga before or for people who enjoy a slower paced class. You will learn breathing techniques and foundational yoga postures that will create strength, flexibility and balance. Class will end with a guided relaxation.
Restorative Yoga:
This class is everyone. Restorative yoga taps into the parasympathetic nervous system by focusing on restful postures that relax the entire body. Supported postures help facilitate deep relaxation and bring balance back into the body. This can enhance the effects of the asana, increasing blood flow and energy into the targeted body area. Poses are held for 5-20 minutes to help the body open areas of tightness. “During deep relaxation, all the organ systems of the body are benefited, and a few of the measurable results of deep relaxation are the reduction of blood pressure, serum triglycerides and blood sugar levels in the blood, the increase of the "good cholesterol" levels, as well as improvement in digestion, fertility, elimination, the reduction of muscle tension, insomnia and generalized fatigue.” – Judith Hanson Lasater
Private Instruction:
I honor the tradition of yoga as a dialog between teacher and student by offering private instruction for individual students or small groups. Whether you are brand new to yoga, have a physical condition that needs special attention, or you would like a consultation regarding your personal yoga practice. I highly recommend the benefits of private sessions.
Yoga Fun:
Have a fun girls (or guys) yoga party in the comfort of your own home. This is perfect for birthday parties, bridal showers, date night with other couples, girls night out... the possibilities are endless!
